Informa Markets is ready to hold ProPak Asia 2022, a mega event that showcases future manufacturing and packaging technologies, bringing together entrepreneurs and investors from across the globe., ProPak Asia

Following the reopening of Thailand after the Covid pandemic, Informa Markets joins hands with both public and private partners to organize the 29th edition of ProPak Asia 2022, an international trade exhibition for manufacturing, processing, and packaging industries, during 15-18 June at BITEC. As a platform to develop businesses further, the trade show expects to welcome local and international visitors to explore the latest innovations and find solutions to post-Covid challenges.

Ms. Rungpetch Chitanuwat, Regional PortfolioDirector - ASEAN at Informa Markets, said, “Thailand’s full reopening paves the way for more international visitors to travel to Thailand, especially businessmen and investors who generate great revenue. Thus, Informa Markets decided to organize ProPak Asia 2022, Asia’s leading exhibition for manufacturing, processing, and packaging industries from around the world at BITEC. This trade show will bring business people and investors from every corner of the world to Thailand. This year’s event is expected to generate a turnover of up to 5 billion baht, welcoming at least 3,000 international visitors and investors. It also provides great opportunities for local businesses to catch up with the latest innovations of manufacturing and packaging industries to satisfy modern customers’ demand.”

Dr. Chutima Eamchotchawalit, Governor of Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), one of the main sponsors, revealed that “Thai Packaging Center has collaborated with the organizer to hold ProPak Asia 2022 through various activities, including a seminar on ‘Everything about Cannabis’ and providing consultations for SMEs who would like to create uniqueness or seek solutions to traditional packages. It will also exhibit packaging innovations and technologies that are the outcomes of TISTR’s research, such as odor-proof boxes for durians, intelligent packaging with indicators to measure the rancidity of fried products, antimicrobial active food packaging, etc.

Mr. Charoen Caowsuksai, Chairman of Food Processing Industry Club, Federation of Thai Industries, disclosed, “The Covid pandemic and technological disruption have forced entrepreneurs to adjust to constant changes. Meanwhile, the world is paying attention to the sustainability concept, so ProPak Asia is a good opportunity for the food and beverage industries to learn about the latest automation innovations and technologies and create a network to explore more business opportunities. The Food Processing Industry Club will discuss with entrepreneurs on 16 June at the Idea Theatre zone.”

Mr. Chaiwat Nantiruj, Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer, Eka Global Co., Ltd, one of the five global leading producers of longevity packaging, disclosed packaging trends and innovations to showcase at ProPak Asia 2022. He said, “The rising trend this year is sustainable and longevity-green products, such as Bioplastics, Biodegradables, and recycled-plastic packaging; which is being developed. Examples are retort packaging, which can extend products’ shelf life outside the fridge up to 2 years; and packaging for food SMEs who use modified atmosphere packaging or MAP as a food preservation technique to extend the shelf life of fresh food or minimally-processed food.”
