Informa Markets, in partnership with the Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP), is pleased to advise that the 8th Global Packaging Forum, will be held alongside ProPak Asia in 2026 on Wednesday the 10th of June.

The 8th Global Packaging Forum brings together international industry leaders to share insights on EPR, packaging design for recyclability, sustainable materials, regulatory developments, and future packaging innovations shaping global markets.

The one-day Global Packaging Forum will have simultaneous translation – English & Thai. All attendees will attain a Certificate of Attendance and points towards the Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) designation. SESSION 1:

2026 Global Packaging Forum

This session will discuss recycling, packaging & waste regulations in the Australasian region and how to re-design labels, materials & packaging to become recycle-ready, meet Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and offer the lowest environmental impact. The panelists will also discuss the current state of play for sustainability and packaging regulations across the Australasian region.

TIME:

SESSION 2:

2026 Global Packaging Forum

This session will discuss what sustainability and regulations look like from a label and adhesives perspective, the important role of caps & closures when designing for openability, accessibility and recycling, and the increase in re-usable & refillable solutions across the world. Container Deposit Schemes and tethered caps will also be discussed.

12.15 pm to 1.00 pm

SESSION 3:

2026 Global Packaging Forum

This session will focus on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations that are coming to all corners of the world. With EPR & Sustainability targets comes rethinking packaging design, reducing materials, lightweighting, using recycled content, improving waste management & recycling systems and more. Collaboration across all stakeholders in the value chain is key to success.

SESSION 4:

2026 Global Packaging Forum

This session will navigate the EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulations (PPWR) and other Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations from across the world. The panel will also discuss the intersection between food contact materials, induction seals and liners, food packaging and food waste and how to find the balance between food and product safety and EPR; all the while ensuring that the packaging is fit for purpose and functional.

SESSION 5:

2026 Global Packaging Forum

With the ever-changing sustainability landscape material science and technology are trying to keep up. This session will look at resin materials, recycle ready materials, paper and certified compostable alternatives and the shift of soft plastics to mono materials. Learn about the latest materials from across the globe.

TIME:

3.40 pm to 4.30 pm

SESSION 6:

2026 Global Packaging Forum

This final session will bring together four leading packaging organisations from across the globe to discuss the changing landscape of the packaging industry, including the current global situation with oil and supply chain limitations, current trends and innovations and what to expect when designing packaging, machinery and technologies for the future world.
