ProPak Asia, The Premiere Processing & Packaging Exhibition in Asia, staged successful duo-events last October 20-23, 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand. The event saw a combination of physical exhibitors at the BITEC halls together with a virtual exhibition platform which exhibitors and visitors can remotely visiting and exhibiting online. ProPak Asia also offers the visitors at BITEC hall to meet online exhibitors who cannot travel but showcasing their products brochure at the Hybrid Pavilion. Hybrid Pavilion was an on-line show where exhibitors showcased their products from wherever they were around the world . Visitors either walked through the physical booths including at the Hybrid Pavilion and visits the customers online in ProPak Asia exhibition platform.
“The impact of the current health crisis has forced many producers to be more digitalized. I realize a great effort from Informa Market, the organizer, and its partners to organize ProPak Asia in this challenging times. I’m impressed by a variety of innovative methods used in the event such as digital platforms, online seminars, and virtual exhibition”, director general Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol of the Department of Industrial Promotion said during the opening ceremonies.
The traditional physical exhibition was participated in by 354exhibitors and witnessed 20,546 visitors from 21 countries walking through the booths. On the other hand, the virtual exhibition was participated by 640exhibitors from 33 countries and welcomed 4,745 on-line visitors, 1,290 visitors at the hybrid pavilion on site that generated 194 confirmed business matches.
The 9-industry focused show linked together ProcessingTech Asia; PackagingTech Asia; DrinkTech Asia; PharmaTech Asia; Lab&Test Asia; Coding, Marking, labelling Asia, Materials Asia, Coldchain, Logistics & Warehousing Asia and Printech Asia stakeholders – vendors, buyers, experts from different organization both international and local through different activities. The various restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic saw a drop in international visitors’ attendance. Despite the impediment exhibitor’s confidence remained high with 8,000 sq.m. booked for 2021 edition, 104% than this year. An indication of the prospects generated during the 4-day event. Likewise, the thrust of the Thai government to sustain business for Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) as highlighted in the ProPak Asia 2020 event exemplified opportunities yet to come.
